Dan Havel and Dean Ruck ,: INstalation

http://www.oddee.com/item_96507.aspx

Havel Ruck Projects (Dan Havel and Dean Ruck) is an artist
collaborative that works in public and quasi-public environments to repurpose architectural structures and remnants of no perceived market value into works of art. By reorganizing the physical construction of unremarkable spaces and places, their interventions bring attention and recognition to underappreciated and ordinary buildings and their histories. Beginning informally in 1994 with Project O House, in collaboration with Kate Petley, the duo came together again in 2004 to create Inversion and Apt. Suite and through 2008 they also completed Scatter Boats and a series of “trespass” works. In 2009 they formalized their collaborative as Havel Ruck Projects, LLP. That same year they executed the dual-site project Give and Take as part of a group show at Contemporary Arts Museum, Houston. HRP projects have garnered broad attention from the public and media and the artists are honored to have received grants and awards from American Institute of Architects, Houston Arts Alliance, Texas Society of
Architects.

Jen Bliss: Photography

Jen Bliss is the photographer for this piece of art , she is a photographer from the Pacific Northwest. She specialises in high impact portrait photography. She always tries to tell a story with each image she creates. The creative process for her  usually begins with a specific idea in mind. However, she remains flexible, and has often detoured from her original plan. She tries to learn the emotions, thoughts, and personality of each new subject. Making a connection with the subject and providing a comfortable experience is most important to her. she likes to be unique with her ideas and tries to see the final photograph in my mind, even before she's finished.

I have looked at her freelance website ---> http://1x.com/member/njsabs2323/photos/latest <---  to further my understanding of her art ; i would say her work is dominantly focused around portraits, This work is called "flying on the rooftops" , this just explains the whole picture; this is her only photo with this style her other images are more elegant and focus on the elements on peoples bod shape and face. I feel that this picture has a story i think it emotes a childlike feeling of being able to fly also with colour from the balloons with the black and white background, also which could be symbolic of a child drawing the hop scotch squares with chalk; thats where i think she has found her inspiration from , maybe her child hood or maybe another child.

The materials which have been used are a black floor, chalk balloons and a model, simple yet effective, the image gives the illusion that the model is on the rooftops. When i first saw this photograph it emoted  my child inside of me , i feel it is really playful and made me say wow. The only thing i dilsike within  the art is it doesn't really fit into her theme of her other images.

Holly Levell: Textile

This artwork was created by Holly Levell ; She is a new young textile artist who just graduated from university of Huddersfield , This artworks called , "Supermarket stitch "These are copies of everyday products which people by made out of felt, theses pieces were created very recently whilst and after she had finished her degree. Her artwork is made for an exhibit to change the status about everyday items and see them as an art form. I have chosen to analyse this work because it caught my eye.

I have looked at other textile artist to further my understanding of her work such as; Carol griffin she also uses materials to create 3D objects .

I looked at Holly's personal website also ---> http://www.angelinthenorth.com/2012/10/16/stitching-sculptures-from-every-day-objects/  AND  http://www.wix.com/holly_levell/01#<---- I am not sure what type of art it is apart from the obvious textile art. The work defiantly has a them which is the things you find in a supermarket, she takes a humble object and manipulates it into an art piece. The title of her work is very self explanatory. I think there is a deeper meaning for the artwork and i think it may be to get across the idea people put a lot of energy and even prize the small things in life. This artist has found her inspiration in everyday life.

The materials Holly used was felt and thread, the techniques used where patterning her  work, stitching and sewing. She creates these pieces on a sewing machine, some things are sewn by hand but the majority is sewn on the machine. I think a major skill used was patience but i also feel that  a more practical skill was being able to observe other items and create them very similarly. I think that the key elements to create Hollys pieces were cooer and shape, all the items are literal size to the things she create and all of them are handmade.

I have chosen to  look at this work because i want to explore a range of techniques such as textile and sewing , when i first saw the work i was amazed at how the food items are like exact replicas , i do not dislike anything about this work. This work has inspired me to explore with textile techniques.

Hina Aoyama: Paper cutting

Hina Aoyama is a specialist paper cutter ,she is chinese born but has been raised  in france, paris. She is the artist of these two images above , She is famous for making her work so intricate and detailed but i am fan because her work is detailed but very elegant; i was looking for an elegant artist for some ideas because i wanted to express Alice symbolically in piece rather than literally. These particular art pieces do not have a name or a title but are among her collection of artwork. These are paper cuttings created  recently i am not sure how recent because these were among a collection , each piece can take her weeks to start and finish.

http://www.arch2o.com/paper-cut-hina-aoyama/#prettyPhoto  <---- This is a website of all of her work, they are all very pretty; i looked at other paper cutters such as Rob ryan and (.....)  I even looked at other websites with paper cutting artist such as this ---> http://www.webdesignerdepot.com/2009/05/100-extraordinary-examples-of-paper-art/   But no other artist was as intricate and elegant as Hina Aoyama; she was also one of the only artist to create these pieces by hand. All her pieces of  work have a similar theme and i think it comes from a chinese / french background; butterflies and flowers are used a lot with in asian art; this is where i think HIna has found her inspiration from her culture.

Hina has used her free hand and scissors to create these pieces that is why they are symmetrical; she has also used cutting knives to get really detailed, she mainly uses black paper, i feel that using black paper also gives the art more elegance; all of her art pieces are barely bigger than a hand , this is probably because it is so detailed , creating a big one could take months to complete. The key elements in this work is the shape and the patterns created.
