Hina Aoyama: Paper cutting
Hina Aoyama is a specialist paper cutter ,she is chinese born but has been raised in france, paris. She is the artist of these two images above , She is famous for making her work so intricate and detailed but i am fan because her work is detailed but very elegant; i was looking for an elegant artist for some ideas because i wanted to express Alice symbolically in piece rather than literally. These particular art pieces do not have a name or a title but are among her collection of artwork. These are paper cuttings created recently i am not sure how recent because these were among a collection , each piece can take her weeks to start and finish.
http://www.arch2o.com/paper-cut-hina-aoyama/#prettyPhoto <---- This is a website of all of her work, they are all very pretty; i looked at other paper cutters such as Rob ryan and (.....) I even looked at other websites with paper cutting artist such as this ---> http://www.webdesignerdepot.com/2009/05/100-extraordinary-examples-of-paper-art/ But no other artist was as intricate and elegant as Hina Aoyama; she was also one of the only artist to create these pieces by hand. All her pieces of work have a similar theme and i think it comes from a chinese / french background; butterflies and flowers are used a lot with in asian art; this is where i think HIna has found her inspiration from her culture.
Hina has used her free hand and scissors to create these pieces that is why they are symmetrical; she has also used cutting knives to get really detailed, she mainly uses black paper, i feel that using black paper also gives the art more elegance; all of her art pieces are barely bigger than a hand , this is probably because it is so detailed , creating a big one could take months to complete. The key elements in this work is the shape and the patterns created.
