Jen Bliss: Photography
Jen Bliss is the photographer for this piece of art , she is a photographer from the Pacific Northwest. She specialises in high impact portrait photography. She always tries to tell a story with each image she creates. The creative process for her usually begins with a specific idea in mind. However, she remains flexible, and has often detoured from her original plan. She tries to learn the emotions, thoughts, and personality of each new subject. Making a connection with the subject and providing a comfortable experience is most important to her. she likes to be unique with her ideas and tries to see the final photograph in my mind, even before she's finished.
I have looked at her freelance website ---> http://1x.com/member/njsabs2323/photos/latest <--- to further my understanding of her art ; i would say her work is dominantly focused around portraits, This work is called "flying on the rooftops" , this just explains the whole picture; this is her only photo with this style her other images are more elegant and focus on the elements on peoples bod shape and face. I feel that this picture has a story i think it emotes a childlike feeling of being able to fly also with colour from the balloons with the black and white background, also which could be symbolic of a child drawing the hop scotch squares with chalk; thats where i think she has found her inspiration from , maybe her child hood or maybe another child.
The materials which have been used are a black floor, chalk balloons and a model, simple yet effective, the image gives the illusion that the model is on the rooftops. When i first saw this photograph it emoted my child inside of me , i feel it is really playful and made me say wow. The only thing i dilsike within the art is it doesn't really fit into her theme of her other images.
